Dr. Kay Edwards

Dr. Kay Edwards attended the University of Wyoming and received her undergraduate degree in Microbiology.  She is a 1984 graduate of Colorado State University's College of Veterinary Medicine.  Shortly after graduation she married Dr. Justin Edwards and they moved to Oregon to begin their veterinary careers.  After working at other veterinary hospitals in the Portland area, they bought Timberland Animal Clinic in Estacada in 1986.  Over the years the hospital's name was changed to Eagle Fern Veterinary Hospital, PC and new small animal and large animal hospitals were built to better serve our community.

Dr. Edwards' favorite aspect about her job is helping people in our commmunity take care of their pets.  With over 20 years of serving Estacada, many friendships have been made with clients and their dogs and cats. 

Dr. Edwards' professional interests include small animal medicine and surgery, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, senior care and wellness health care.  She is a member of the AVMA, OVMA, PVMA, Feline Cornell Health Center and the Veterinary Wound Management Society.  In addition, she manages the small animal hospital, writes the quarterly newsletters and educates school children about pet care and careers in veterinary medicine.

Dr. Edwards' family includes her husband, Justin (a former large animal veterinarian at Eagle Fern Equine Hospital) and their two sons, Ross and Clay.  They have a dog, cat, chinchilla and various aquarium fish.  Dr. Edwards' dog, Abby gets to come to work with her every day.  She enjoys flower and vegetable gardening, camping, fly fishing, hiking, mountain climbing, travelling and spending time with her family.

Dr. Cynthia Hoeft

Dr. Cynthia Hoeft was born and raised in Estacada, Oregon.  She received her Associate of Arts degree from Northwest College in Kirkland, Washington and went on to recieve her Bachelor of Science degree from Portland State University.  Dr. Hoeft then attended Oregon State University's College of Veterinary Medicine where she completed her doctorate in 1997.  After graduation, Dr. Hoeft joined the veterinary staff at Eagle Fern Veterinary Hospital, PC where she previously had been employed as kennel help and veterinary technician during her high school and college years.

Dr. Hoeft's professional interests include small animal medicine and surgery, orthopedic surgery, animal behavior and oncology.  She is a member of the AVMA and PVMA.  Additionally, Dr. Hoeft manages  and educates the veterinary technician staff at the hospital.  Dr. Hoeft writes the Case of the Month for the hospital and helps volunteers interested in veterinary medicine to learn about the profession.

When not working Dr. Hoeft and her husband, Leo and daughter, Brittany, enjoy spending time with family and horseback riding, along with other outdoor activities.  She has two cats and three horses.  Dr. Hoeft actively participates with her husband in church music ministry.  She enjoys tole painting, crafts, gardening, and hiking.

 Stacey

Stacey is the head of Client Services.  She has been a receptionist and involved in client services at Eagle Fern Veterinary Hospital since 2001.  She manages the front office staff and educational client information.  Stacey attends the Portland area Practice Manager's meetings.

Stacey was born and raised in Oregon.  Her family includes her husband, Greg and two sons, Zack and Jacob.  They have two cats, a dog and two turtles.  She enjoys spending time with family and friends, movies, swimming, bike riding, camping and photography.

 

Laurie

Laurie has been with Eagle Fern Veterinary Hospital, PC since 1993.  She has years of experience in client services.  Along her duties at the front desk, she is also responsible for reminder cards and new client letters.

She is a native Oregonian.  Her family includes her husband, Tom and two sons, Sean and Christopher.  She is also proud of her daughter-in-laws and four granddaughters.  Her family raises sheep and also has a dog, two cats, fish, and chickens.  She loves salmon fishing with her family, cooking, gardening and camping.  

 Corrie

Corrie has worked in client services as a receptionist at Eagle Fern Veterinary Hospital, PC since 1998.  She enjoys working with people and their pets.  She also orders pet food and is the caretaker of our office aquarium.

Corrie has lived in Estacada area with her husband, Starr and their two children, Courtney and Colin since 1995.  They have two dogs, two cats, and salt water fish.  Corrie enjoys spending time with her family and has fun riding the family's ATVs.

 

Tammy

Tammy joined the Client Service Staff in 2009.  Previously, she had many years of experience working in medical offices.  She enjoys working at EFVH because of the friendly atmosphere and the helpfulness of her co-workers.  She also likes working with the clients and their pets.

Tammy has lived in Oregon all her life.  She is married to Gary and have two daughters, Lacey and Rachel.  They have two dogs, Stormy and Windy.  For fun, Tammy camps, participates in Pontiac GTO Car Club Activities and spends time with friends and family.

Jill

Jill is our senior veterinary technician and has been employed here since 1999.  She is in charge of inventory and ordering as well as being the technician team leader.  She is certified in radiology and hopes to be certified soon as a veterinary technician.  Jill is an Estacada High School graduate.  She is a member of the Oregon Veterinary Technician Association.

Jill's family includes her husband, Kevin and their three girls, Paige, Skylar, and Emree.  They have two cats and two horses.  Jill enjoys horseback riding, four-wheelers, waterskiing and family.  

 

Jodi

 Jodi has been on staff since 1999, joining her identical twin sister, Jill.  She served shortly in the front office then worked as a veterinary technician.  She is in charge of advertising, informational bulletin boards, Material Safety Data Sheets, and technician online courses.  Jodi is certified in radiology.  Jodi is an Estacada High School graduate.  She is a member of the Oregon Veterinary Technician Association.

Jodi is very close to her family including her husband, Nick and two children, her parents, four sisters and a brother.  She has four dogs, three cats, and three horses.  Jodi enjoys riding four wheelers and horses and other sports like volleyball, waterskiing, and fishing.

 

 Stacey

Stacey began working as a veterinary assistant in 2006 and over the years has gained knowledge in the veterinary technician field.  She is taking college courses in the health field.  She loves working with the animals and people. 

Stacey has several animal family members including a couple of dogs, a hamster, two cats, and a lizard.  They keep her busy.

 Sara

Sara joined the Veterinary Assistant Team in 2009.  She likes the friendly working environment and helping animals and their owners.  In addition to the training she is receiving at EFVH, Sara also is attending the Penn Foster College Veterinary Technician Associates Degree Program on-line.  Prior to working at EFVH, Sara was an Intelligence Specialist in the Navy for 8 years.

Sara has a German Shepard named Jager.  Her hobbies include triathalons, reading, snowboarding, playing with her dog  and volunteering at Multnomah County Animal Shelter.

Our Professional Groomer 

 Amber

Amber began grooming at EFVH in 2009.  She has been a great addition to the staff, offering grooming and "pet pampering" to the services available to our clients.  Amber has been grooming since 2006 and has worked with animals for many years.  She studied under master groomers and is constantly learning by taking new courses in grooming as well as animal health care and training.

Amber has a puggle named Luna and enjoys hiking, painting and reading.
