Dr. Kay Edwards |

Dr. Kay Edwards attended the University of Wyoming and received her undergraduate degree in Microbiology. She is a 1984 graduate of Colorado State University's College of Veterinary Medicine. Shortly after graduation she married Dr. Justin Edwards and they moved to Oregon to begin their veterinary careers. After working at other veterinary hospitals in the Portland area, they bought Timberland Animal Clinic in Estacada in 1986. Over the years the hospital's name was changed to Eagle Fern Veterinary Hospital, PC and new small animal and large animal hospitals were built to better serve our community.
Dr. Edwards' favorite aspect about her job is helping people in our commmunity take care of their pets. With over 20 years of serving Estacada, many friendships have been made with clients and their dogs and cats.
Dr. Edwards' professional interests include small animal medicine and surgery, soft tissue surgery, dentistry, senior care and wellness health care. She is a member of the AVMA, OVMA, PVMA, Feline Cornell Health Center and the Veterinary Wound Management Society. In addition, she manages the small animal hospital, writes the quarterly newsletters and educates school children about pet care and careers in veterinary medicine.
Dr. Edwards' family includes her husband, Justin (a former large animal veterinarian at Eagle Fern Equine Hospital) and their two sons, Ross and Clay. They have a dog, cat, chinchilla and various aquarium fish. Dr. Edwards' dog, Abby gets to come to work with her every day. She enjoys flower and vegetable gardening, camping, fly fishing, hiking, mountain climbing, travelling and spending time with her family.

Dr. Cynthia Hoeft |

Dr. Cynthia Hoeft was born and raised in Estacada, Oregon. She received her Associate of Arts degree from Northwest College in Kirkland, Washington and went on to recieve her Bachelor of Science degree from Portland State University. Dr. Hoeft then attended Oregon State University's College of Veterinary Medicine where she completed her doctorate in 1997. After graduation, Dr. Hoeft joined the veterinary staff at Eagle Fern Veterinary Hospital, PC where she previously had been employed as kennel help and veterinary technician during her high school and college years.
Dr. Hoeft's professional interests include small animal medicine and surgery, orthopedic surgery, animal behavior and oncology. She is a member of the AVMA and PVMA. Additionally, Dr. Hoeft manages and educates the veterinary technician staff at the hospital. Dr. Hoeft writes the Case of the Month for the hospital and helps volunteers interested in veterinary medicine to learn about the profession.
When not working Dr. Hoeft and her husband, Leo and daughter, Brittany, enjoy spending time with family and horseback riding, along with other outdoor activities. She has two cats and three horses. Dr. Hoeft actively participates with her husband in church music ministry. She enjoys tole painting, crafts, gardening, and hiking.
